Andromeda Q1 Recap: Advancing Modular and Cross-Chain Web3 Development

The Andromeda Operating System (aOS) is designed to unlock a new era of modular, interoperable Web3 development. In Q1 2025, we made major strides toward this vision, expanding our ADO (Andromeda Digital Object) library, laying the groundwork for IBC-enabled cross-chain apps, overhauling the developer experience, and scaling our global ecosystem.

Here’s a comprehensive recap of our product and ecosystem momentum in Q1.

📦 Expanding the Andromeda Digital Object (ADO) Library

aOS is built on reusable smart contract components called Andromeda Digital Objects (ADOs). These plug-and-play modules dramatically reduce time-to-launch for decentralized applications.

In Q1, we released several new ADOs that give developers more flexibility and control over app logic:

  • Graph ADO: Supports spatial data mapping—ideal for blockchain games, simulations, and real-time positioning use cases.

  • Curve ADO: Enables non-linear logic, useful for dynamic pricing curves, staking systems, and programmable reward scaling.

  • Point ADO: Extends Graph ADO to associate specific coordinates with users, unlocking personalized experiences in multiplayer games or virtual economies.

  • Fixed Amount Splitter ADO: Facilitates deterministic payouts of fixed token amounts—great for structured fund distributions and token launches.

We also added Beta ADOs including:

  • Conditional Splitter ADO: Adds logic to how funds are distributed.

  • Rate-Limiting Withdrawals ADO: Controls how and when users can access their assets.

Each new ADO enhances aOS’s modular dApp framework, empowering builders to customize smart contract behavior without writing low-level code.

🔗 Preparing for IBC: Cross-Chain App Development on aOS

Interoperability is a pillar of our vision for aOS. In Q1, we completed key infrastructure to support IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication), which will enable developers to build cross-chain decentralized applications that operate seamlessly across Cosmos and other IBC-enabled ecosystems.

Progress includes:

  • ✅ Operational Packet Relaying Service

  • ✅ Cross-chain instantiation for launching apps on multiple chains

  • ✅ Swap & Forward socket for cross-chain token swaps

  • ✅ Kernel-level IBC communication supporting single and multi-hop messaging

  • ✅ IBC Registry contract for managing connections

Imagine deploying a dApp on one blockchain and enabling interaction from users on multiple others, all without duplicating infrastructure. That’s what IBC + aOS unlocks.

🛠️ App Builder 2.0: A Reimagined Modular dApp Experience

App Builder 2.0 is a complete redesign of our no-code/low-code interface for launching apps on aOS. Built with modularity and usability in mind, it provides a faster, more intuitive way to build Web3 applications.

Key Features:

  • Flow-Based Architecture: Create entire app flows—instantiate, execute, and query—all in one visual builder.

For example, you can launch an entire NFT collection, mint tokens, and immediately send them to auction, all in one transaction.

  • Simplified ADO Panels: Launch faster with pre-configured settings while retaining advanced options for power users.

These panels reduce the number of fields you need to fill out, making it easy to get your app live with minimal setup, while still giving advanced users the option to dive deeper when needed.

On top of that, we’ve made key improvements across the entire App Builder experience:

  • Improved navigation: easily move through your app structures without getting lost.

  • Smarter connection management: link components together more intuitively and reliably.

  • Enhanced component browsing: find and add the building blocks you need faster than ever.

Set to launch in Q2, App Builder 2.0 will become the default gateway for creators building modular Web3 apps on Cosmos and beyond.

🧪 Testing and Reliability: Strengthening Developer Confidence

We’ve strengthened the reliability of aOS by investing in robust testing and deployment infrastructure:

  • ✅ Manual QA across all ADOs

  • ✅ End-to-End (E2E) Testing Suite simulating real-world user behavior

  • ✅ Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) upgrades

  • ✅ Deep integration tests across smart contract modules

These upgrades ensure builders can launch confidently with reduced risk of bugs, regressions, or failure under real conditions.

🖥️ Andromeda CLI: Now Production-Ready

Our command-line interface (CLI) for aOS is now officially out of beta. Developers who prefer working in the terminal can now:

  • Create and manage ADOs programmatically

  • Deploy and test apps using streamlined workflows

  • Access fully updated CLI documentation and support

The CLI gives professional teams greater speed, scriptability, and CI/CD integration options.

📘 Documentation: Supporting Every New Feature

Every product release and upgrade in Q1 was paired with developer-first documentation. Whether you're launching your first modular dApp or building a complex IBC-enabled application, you’ll find detailed, up-to-date resources across our documentation portal.

🧠 AI-Powered Onboarding & Flagship Showcases

We’re investing in tools that reduce friction for new builders. In Q1, we began developing an AI-powered onboarding agent that will guide developers into the aOS ecosystem based on their experience level and project needs.

In parallel, we’re creating flagship app showcases—real-world dApps built on aOS that demonstrate advanced use cases across DeFi, gaming, governance, and more. These will serve as inspiration and launch-ready templates for our community.
